Bright Lights @ Assisi Chikodi At eve Diwali was celebrated in the Assisi campus on 10th November 2018. For
children Diya and Rangoli competitions were conducted in the school. Mr. S B
Bhiste, Senior Manager, Karnataka VikasGrameena Bank was the chief guest of the
evening function, he voiced out in his speech that one has to sparkle in the
lives of others, as light burns for other, the crackers burst and give joy to
others, so one is called to do the same. Parents and students appreciated the
dances of Assisi kids through their round of applause. The eagerly awaited
moment dawned as students marched forward class wise to burst the crackers.
Everybody raised their eyes as diverse colours spread the blue skyas little
twin.

CHILDREN’S DAY @ ASSISI, CHIKODI Each child that born conveys that “GOD STILL LOVES THE WORLD”. It’s our duty and
responsibility to keep each child happy and grow in a right direction to take
care of the future life. So St. France of Assisi School always strives to keep
the children on move towards progressive development of children. So, at our
school the tone of the celebration started with HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY. Children
were overwhelmed with the presence of distinguish guests from France, Mr.
Daniel, Mr. Marcel, Mrs. Benedicta and Mrs. Lucy. Mr. Daniel in his speech
called all children to enjoy their childhood to the full. A thunder of claps
echoed in the Assisi campus as teachers presented their creative programme items
on the stage.

Great Fun in Water Park : Assisi School Chikodi St Francis of Assisi School organised a day outing for I to V std students to
Gandharv Water Park, on 28, October 2018. 223 students were accompanied by 21
staff members for the picnic. After the prayers and blessings at 8.30am all left
for Gandarv Water Park by school buses. On reaching there, had tasty breakfast
and then got into water to have a great fun. Children played all water games to
their heart contents. After the delicious lunch, children enjoyed the Puppet
Show, Magic Show, 3d film and Dashing Cars. Trackless Train, Jumping Frog,
Columbus Boat, Vortex Tunnel and Break Dance led them into lots of excitements.
With lots of fresh memories, new experiences and astonishing amusement children
reached Assisi school at 8.45pm.

SCIENCE XPO 2018 @ Assisi School Chikodi; Day Two On Second Day, St. Francis of Assisi School extended a red carpet welcome to the
great young patent Scientist Mr. Resington.R, who is famous for his automation,
research and known as a developer, hailing from Tuticorin, Tamilnadu. His great
inventions such as Booster less Antenna at the age of 17, Electronic Wife,
Escape236, RSLV (Resington Satellite Launching Vehicle),E-Control ,M-Control,
Patented Mysty box, Patented Bio – Diesel, SOR (Save Our Race) are his flawless
works. He was also honored by the former Prime Minister Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for
his tremendous inventions. A day seminar was conducted by the great Scientist to
radiate his holistic inventions in the field of Science and Technology. Assisi
family was proud to have such an inspirational figure in its greens. Students
and teachers from various colleges attended a day seminar organized by the
Assisi school.

SCIENCE XPO 2018 @ Assisi School Chikodi; Day One The atmosphere of St. Francis of Assisi school was cherished on the day of
Science Xpo 2018. A day was dawned to screen the unpredictable inventions
Assisians framed. The event began by asking the almighty Lords blessings through
a devotional song. A great renowned Scientist of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was
remembered and honored by performing Pooja. To mark this day, General secretary
of Chikodi Physics forum, Mr. Vishwanath. V. Koladur was called to be the chief
guest. He is currently serving as a professor in Physics department at
Government PU College Majalatti. Through his message, he inflated students to
soar at greater heights and to be the national icons of tomorrow. The technology
filled Science Xpo 2018 was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon and launching the
powerful rocket by the Chief Guest.

“Visit to the new Places, being with new culture is better than reading books on them.” @ Assisi School Chikodi High School Students of St Francis of Assisi school were taken to an excursion
on 5th October, 2018 to 9th October, 2018 to the magical city of Hyderabad. 65
students and 9 teachers, together 74 members went on tour. The compartments of
train were filled with the joyous laughter, melodious tunes and interesting
games. Early in the morning, all reached at the Mahaveer Lodge at Kachiguda,
after the breakfast, the first day, Birla Temple, Birla Museum, Art Gallery,
Planetarium, Snow world, Statue of Buddha and LumbiniPark were visited.

patron’s day. Frs. Anthony Raj, the Parish Priest of Potnal, Raichur and Anthony
Raj, the professor of Darshan Institute of Theology, Bangalore were the chief
guests of the day. Children enacted the skit ‘Francis and Three Robbers’ and
brought out St. Francis’ humanness to the audience. “We need to imbibe St.
Francis of Assisi qualities in our lives to become light to the world” was the
message from the chief guest. By offering flowers children paid homage to the
school patron.

Eid-ul-Adha: A festival of sacrifice @ Assisi School Chikodi Quran 6:162 : “Indeed my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my
dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
St. Francis of Assisi school children gathered together with Muslim brethren to
rejoice and share the joy of Eid- ul -Adha. The celebration began by asking the
Lords blessings through a devotional hymn. The guest of the day Mrs. Gulnaz
Goundi the Assistant Engineer in Karnataka Water board, who is currently serving
as an Executive Engineer in PWD department, enlightened the students on the
importance of the festivity. Cultural programmes like Qawwali and dances added
beauty to the celebration. Generosity of Muslim kids and parents, sweeten the
mouths of all children.

Independence Day @ Assisi School Chikodi St. Francis of Assisi school celebrated Independence day with unprecedented
patriotic fervour this year. The entire school assembled on the ground for the
celebration. The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Henry D’Souza, Director of FISI
(Franciscan Institute of spirituality India) Bangalore, hoisted the Tricolor
flag. The national anthem echoed the entire campus. Thereafter, our students
marched impressively to the beat of the drum. Though there was cloudy weather
and drops of rain, students’ performance evoked the feelings of patriotism in
the gathered audience. The Chief Guest, voiced out in his speech the importance
of the day and our duty towards the nation to make it great as our freedom
fighters dreamt to be. The celebration came to an end with the distribution of
sweets.

Inauguration of the new school building @ Assisi School Chikodi St Francis of Assisi school Chikodi, inaugurated new school building on
Saturday, 11 August 2018 at 11.00am. Rev Fr Dolphy Pais, Provincial minister,
invoked God’s blessings and cut the ribbon as the children, standing on
different stories of the building, showered the stage and building with flowers.
Frs. Peter D’souza, Melwyn D’souza, Alwyn Dias and Salvador Fernandes,
councilors of the province joined in blessing the building with the holy water.
Mr Vinod A Ghatti, Cousulting Civil Engineer, was felicitated by offering a
shawl . The progarm was graced with the presence of Fr Anil D’costa, Principal
of Trinity school, Udupi, Fr Robin D’souza, Province Administrator, Fr Deepak
Fernandes, Provincial Secretary, Fr Alphonso MSFS, Parents, friends, benefactors
and well-wishers of the School. After the function meals were served for
everyone in the Assisi Campus.

BETTER FUTURE AHEAD : Assisi School Chikodi The valedictory function was organized by the students and teachers of St.
Francis of Assisi School on 3rd April, 2018 in the school ground where students
of Class 1st – 9th bid farewell to the outgoing students of class 10th wishing
them better future ahead. The function began with the band procession followed
by the prayer dance. Fr. Jeson Fernandes, the Principal of the school welcomed
the guests and the gathering. Thereafter, Fr. Maxim (The Principal of St.
Joseph’s Institute of Hotel Management, Belgaum), the chief guest welcomed the
outgoing batch by bursting the paper crackers and wished them well by giving
away the momentos and a motivational speech. Fr. Arun, the President of the
programme enlightened the students with his inspirational speech. Students
presented very interesting shadow play and group dances, which entertained the
audience to the fullest. Farewell function witnessed the prize distribution for
the students who had won in the musical fete. The valedictory function was ended
with Thanks giving song by outgoing students.

ASSISI JOURNEE : Assisi School Chikodi With great pomp and splendor, St. Francis of Assisi school celebrated Annual day
on 13th January 2018, under the title “Assisi Journee.” The function was
presided over by Rev. Fr. Arun Lobo OFM Cap. The parents appreciated and enjoyed
the variety of programme like diverse dances on current themes, singing,
Christmas tableau and skit performed by the students. The stage arrangement and
the digitalization of the programme won the hearts of the audience. The Chief
Guest of the day Rev. Fr. Thomas Champakara, the principal of St. Xavier’s
School, Belgaum, in his speech highlighted the quality, standard of the
programme and the hard efforts of the teachers making children to get ready. He
also advised the parents, their role in the all-round grow of their children.
The top five of 2016-2017 X std batch were awarded and the Science Xpo 2017,
prizes were given away by the guests.

order and the missionary work that Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka does, St.

and congratulated, the parents and children for their generous help, good
co-operation, timely support and day today concern for school and the Assisi
family. He also applauded their great step that they have taken to contribute
for the Capuchin Mission through this fete. Further he voiced out, on the
Capuchin Heritage and the works that Capuchin fathers do for the society in
different missions. To remember, this day pre-school children had fancy dress
competition and higher primary and high school children had live musical bands
competition.

Educational Tour to Kerala: Assisi School Chikodi Educational tour to God’s own country conducted on 19th November to 24th
November, 2017. X standard children were blessed before leaving the Assisi
campus. As students were travelling by train, they were wonderstruck by seeing
amazing Dudhsagar splendor and scenic beauty of Konkan coast. As soon as
children reached their dreamland, they paid a visit to Fort Kochi, St. Francis
of Assisi Church, where Vasco-da- Gama was buried and his tomb is preserved till
this day. From there they went and learnt about the Chinese Fishnet (Oldest
method of catching fish). Then,they proceeded to the best part of the day
‘Marine Drive’, where they travelled to back waters and saw mighty vessels
carrying huge cargos. In the evening, students rushed to the India’s biggest
mall, Lulu Mall and had thrilling and adventures games and shopping.

us. To mark the occasion teachers organized squad vise tug of war to the
children and winners were awarded. Children learnt, in unity there is strength

BRIGHTNESS IN THE ASSISI CAMPUS : Assisi School Chikodi St. Francis of Assisi School celebrated Diwali with great pomp and
excitement. The celebration began with the prayer song followed by the
welcome speech by Mrs. Sukanya. Goddess Laxmi was adored by performing
‘Puja’ by our teachers and parents. Dr. Bahubali Gane, the chief guest
of the programme heighted the importance of Diwali Celebration.
Thereafter our children performed mesmerizing dances to enhance the joy
of this celebration. The graceful movements of our children in the
performance fascinated the audience. The cultural progrmme ended with
the vote of thanks but the campus was lit brightly with the resounding
and spectacular blasts of crackers thereafter. Not only those but also
the lamps which were lit on the buildings sparkled like the tiny stars
on the buildings. The students of each class enjoyed the cracker show in
the darkness. Our generous parents made this celebration memorable one.

Today’s Science is tomorrow’s technology : Assisi School Chikodi On title Science Xpo, the science department of St. Francis of Assisi School
Chikodi, scientifically organized science exhibition on Saturday, 16th
September, 2017. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. K GopalaKrishnan, Head of
the Department of Physics at KLE Independent PU College, Chikodi, along with
guest of honour Rev. Sr. Idoline Rodrigues, Head Mistress of Loretto School,
Batwal, Mangalore. The exhibition spanned all the three branches of Science:
Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students from VI-X grade displayed various
advancements in hydraulic principle, production of electricity, density of
matter, etc. There was a separate section on advancements in Mathematics and
Chemistry experiments. The science show highlighted experiments related to
electricity, air pressure, ect. Parents, professors, teachers and students from
other schools and colleges were astonished by the variety of models and the
communication skills of St. Francis of Assisi school’s budding scientists. The
judges applauded the ideas and creative mind of the students and congratulated
all the teachers for their hard efforts in putting up such educational show.

calendar; Independence Day. The day, where all the Indian citizens remember with
reverence and pride great heroes, who shed their blood for the freedom of this
land. Our school, St. Francis of Assisi celebrated this national festival with
great pomp and grandeur. National flag was hoisted at 8:30am by the Chief guest
Fr. Stephen Kachappilly OFM Cap, belonging to the custody of Premjyothi, Delhi,
in the presence of Fr Jason, the Principal of the school, Fr Paul D’souza,
teachers, students and parents. After this, there was rhythmic march past which
astonished the audience on the ground. Silent parade, lotus formation, group
dances and skits on freedom fighters led people into patriotic sentiments.

teachers, expressing their sentiments of love, respect and gratitude to them.
Speaking on friendship, Fr Jason Principal of the school quoted the quotation
from Book of Sirach, “Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter: whoever finds one
has found a treasure (6:14).” Thus, he stressed the importance of friendship and
truthfulness in the dealing with one’s friend. It’s only genuineness can
transform one true and faithful friend. As the Independence Day of India is
approaching squad wise patriotic singing competition was held for the primary
and high school students.

Be Green Go Green : Assisi School Chikodi Recently, Chikodi region had good showers. St. Francis of Assisi School thought
it’s an apt time to celebrate Vanamohotsava. On 26-07-2017, Children came with
green dress, carrying plants in their hands. A solemn assembly was conducted by
the students under the title ‘Be Green, Go Green’. The Principal in his short
message gave a clarion call to students to take the example of St. Francis of
Assisi, the patron of the school, the patron of ecology . St. Francis showed
great respect to the mother earth, the plants and the creatures of this planet.
Children, who contributed plants were appreciated for their generosity towards
school garden. They sang the canticle of Brother Sun and praised God for the
beautiful creation. After the assembly students planted the plants in the
garden. We are also thankful to Rev. Frs. Sathish Fernandes and Edwin for their
presence, expertise and support during the setting out the plants in the soil.

ENJOY GOOD HEALTH : Assisi School Chikodi Today’s world is an advanced one but not a healthy one. Many communicable
diseases have been eradicated. It is the non-communicable diseases that are
causing harm to the human race. On July 19, 2017 Dr. Rajendra Salagare M.B.B.S ,
M.D, a pediatrician and a child specialist, along with a team of six doctors,
conducted a health camp for children of our school. The following day, he
conducted an awareness seminar for students of class VIII, IX and X. He made the
students realize the diseases caused by an unhealthy life style. He instructed
the students on how to change their life style to have better health. He gave an
awareness to the students on how obesity could lead to diseases such as blood
pressure and diabetes. He adviced the students to have an healthy diet and to
exercise regularly. He mentioned that one can be fit not only by exercising but
by also maintaining a proper diet. He concluded the programme saying ‘Health is
Wealth’.

by celebrating the feast of Ramzan in the school auditorium. The festive mood
began with a prayer song, followed by welcome speech by Ms Nidha. To have
solidarity, children of different community joined in performing dance, songs
and skit to highlight the importance of the Ramzan. The teacher of the Urdu
school, Mr Jafer Sharif, the chief guest of the day spoke proudly on the five
pillars; Kalama, Namaz, Roza, Zakat and Haij of Islam. He also spoke on
significance of Ramzan in Muslim’s life. Fr Arun, the president of the programme
upheld in his message, the objective behind the celebration, i.e., to inculcate
a sense of oneness among children.

Valedictory ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi The
students of St. Francis of Assisi School, along with teachers, bid a
grand farewell to X standard students on 25th February 2017. The X
standard students and their parents were welcomed with drum beats.
Moreover.the X standard students were given a grand welcome on the stage
by offering flowers followed by bursting of colourful paper crackers.
The two students of X standard, i.e. Shreesh and Rashmi, shared their
experience and said that the school had given them the finest teachers,
wonderful friends for life and a platform to grow in freedom with
responsibility. Speaking about X standard , Shubham Potadar, the student
of IX standard said that bidding adieu to seniors is very painful and
that would remain in their hearts even after leaving the school. Fr.
Jason the Principal of the School wished the children good luck for the
future and asked the students not to forget the school and their
teachers.

FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL, CHIKODI ANNUAL EXCURSION School
annual excursion is an event of excitement to every student. St. Francis
of Assisi School, Chikodi planned an educational tour for VII, VIII & IX
grade students to historical and existing places of Tamilnadu. The tour
started early morning of 22nd January 2017 with 49 students accompanied
by six staff. Travelling a full day by train from Belgaum to Madurai was
a memorable journey for the students with lots of fun and merry making.
The group reached Madurai the temple city on 23rd afternoon. The most
famous and architecturally fabulous temple of Goddess Meenakshi was the
main place to visit and worship. Students were taken up by the
Sculptural and artistic design of the temple. They paid devotional
homage to Goddess Meenakshi and walked on the huge corridors of the
temple viewing every nook and corner of the giant monument.

Annual day celebration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi School annual day is the Cultural face of one’s school. St. Francis of
Assisi Celebrated this day on 21 of December. It had majestic stage
setup with plenty of colorful lights and mind blowing sound. It had
three stages one is Darbhar stage where kings and ministers sat and done
the oration and other side there was Assisi band who sang and played
live music and shun the hearts and minds of the audience and at the
center there was main stage where children enjoyed their performance.
From nursery to X standard all compulsorily performed on the stage. The
variety added the beauty for the function. Small kids danced and
performed skit. VI to VIII divided themselves in different groups and
performed Hanuman Chalice, Veeragasa, Janapada, Adivasi, Charlie
Chapline dances and Selfiemime show.

Christmas Celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi “Joy to the world Christ has born”
St. Francis of Assisi school celebrated Christmas on grand scale. On
January 6th eve all the teaching and non-teaching staff gathered in the
hall at 6 pm. As chief guest Superior of Christalaya Rev. Fr. Arun Lobo
had come and given beautiful message to all. Frs. Paul and Veerus were
present. The eve was filled with dance and merry. Christian teachers
sang carols spread the message of peace. To have more fun there were
many interesting games were conducted. Everybody had Christmas friend
and they shared their gifts with them and Management also gave gifts to
all of them. The night was ended with delicious dinner.
When St. Francis of Assisi school steps into the December month, all
students go to different shops to purchase the best gift to their
Christmas friend.

Capuchin fete at St.Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi For the first time to make known the Capuchin Heritage and the work of
the fathers in the Taluk of Chikodi, St. Francis of Assisi School,
organized Capuchin fete. This event created joyful and cheer in the
hearts and minds of children and parents. The day was filled with
laughter, fun and games. Children organized games and food stalls. To
make the day a glorious one lower classes had fancy dress competition;
primary and high school children had dance and skit competition; and
Assisi band had musical band competition. Parents came in big number and
were thrilled to see their kids performance. As chief guest Rev. Fr.
Paul D’souza presided over the function. We also had special guests Brs.
Avil, Jason and Ashwin from Darshan Institute of Theology, Bangalore, as
judges for the event.

Deepavali Celebration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi 5 Nov 2016 was a great day for St.Francis of Assisi school children to
see the campus beautified with attractive and wonderful lights. Ground
was decorated with colorful rangolis, corridors lit up with diyas. By
looking at the grandeur, people marched towards school to witness the
grand celebration of the day. Thus the eve spread its exotic light in
the surrounding. Mr. Aravind Kulkarni, lecture of women college Chikodi,
was invited as chief guest of the day. In his message, he gave a clarion
call to the children and the parents to become lights in the world. The
programme twinkled with fire works filling the air. This was enjoyed by
all the people gathered in the assisi grounds.

Dandiya celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi
On 8th Oct 2016, Dandiya, a cultural dance of Gujurat - Maharastra, was
held in the campus grounds of St. Francis of Assisi School. The campus
was decorated with lightings and dandiya symbols. Parents with teachers
and students danced to the home tunes of Dandiya. Prizes were given out
to the best dancer and the best costume. Lucky dip was conducted and the
winner was presented a home-reared Rabbit. The celebration was graced by

Assisi students Industrial visit to Jainapur Wind Mill On 14th October, 2016 at 9.30am we reached at Jainapur Wind Farm. At the
Beginning, Mr.Ramesh who is the electrical engineer of Jainapur wind
farm explained about wind mill installed at Jainapur and their
generation, transmission and distribution. From this visit, we got the
information and practical knowledge about Power Generation through wind
mill and transmission and distribution of power. Students got the
knowledge about wind mill, wind turbine, generator. students got an
idea, how Electricity is generated through wind mill and types of
Generator and their connection and from the control panel how to take
readings and how to manually stop wind mill. About 33 students of
10thStd St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi & faculty members named
Asst.teacher X.M.Renold Fernandez were benefited from this visit as they
got chance to discussion with In charge officer and other engineers
working at wind farm.

students of 3rd std depicted the annunciation through the skit followed
by melodious singing of Mother Mary song in Kannada inviting every one

St. Francis of Assisi School celebrated Raksha Bandhan on 18th of August
2016. The Prime Minister of the school Anish from class X gave a
mind-blowing and informative speech which evolved around the history of
the festival Raksha Bhandan. Every student gathered on the school ground
according to class wise and celebrated with a ritual by making arathi
and tying Rakhi strengthening the bond of love between brothers and
sisters.
70th Independence day celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi “Reform,
Perform and Transform” - Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
St. Francis of Assisi school celebrated 70th Independence Day on August
15, 2016. The chief guest of the day was Sanjay Rodrigues, Manager for
delivery payment and remintences with the Hong Kong and Sangai banking
and finance. “The independence and freedom can only exist in doing
what’s right”. The ceremony started at 8.30 am in the school open
ground. The supreme commander Rajangouda Patil of class VIII escorted
the chief guest to the flag port to hoist the flag. The chief guest
unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the national anthem
and expressed the joy of freedom.

Ramzan Celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi “As the crescent moon is sighted, and the holy month of Ramadan
begins. May Allah bless you with happiness and grace your home with
warmth and peace”. St.
Francis of Assisi school celebrated Ramadan Mubarak on 20th of July. The
event began with a prayer song Noor wala aya hai, noor lay ker aya hai
followed by speech regard to Ramazan. It is more of just not eating and
drinking, but it is a time to purify the soul, focus attention towards
God, and practice self discipline and sacrifice. The chief guests of the
day were Moulana Mh Gouse and Jaffer Sharif chabanoor. Their eloquent
speeches broaden everyone, the knowledge of Ramzan.

Farewell bid for Rev.Fr.Richard Quodros at St.Francis of Assisi School
Chikodi It was sad day for an Assisi family to bid a farewell to a former
principal Fr. Richie. The farewell event started with a special prayer
dance followed by presentation of bouquet by the principal Fr. Jason.
The powerful speech given by Seema .C X and Swayam IX were focal points
of Fr. Richie’s qualities, capacities and his achievements as being a
founder father of St. Francis of Assisi School. Different programmes
performed by the students’ added color to the event. The presentation of
gifts showed the love of the students and staff. The inspirational
speech given by the Fr. Richie encouraged every student to possess good
attitude by forgoing the evil by quoting “Darkness is the absence of

with excite, spring with joy as it’s a merry day out for the tots to
adventure the Dew's and warm the streams.
Assisi buds ventured into the new world of paradise gushed with the
streams of dews. Size does not matters. It’s the will power which
matters was beautifully exclaimed by the kids. In the midst of greens
the tots sparkled like tiny pearls on the streams. The buds
enthusiastically gathered in large number to explore and adventure the

The portals of assisi was rushed up with fragrance as the assisi chefs
moulded the tasty delighted yummy dishes and snacks by cooking without
the flames. Assisians triggered themselves and set off to the food
palace to enjoy the bountiful happiness of the recipe cooked by their
mates. Participants drew out compelling creative ideas and astonished
the viewers blinking through their variety of their yummy recipes.
Republic Day Celebration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi The
flag of my country furls very high. No tides can ride. Tiranga is my
pride.
Today the breeze is calm, filled with peace, we salute the remarkable
souls who filled the life with special flavour. The 67th Indian republic
flag was furled very high in the assisi campus hoisted by the cultural
head teacher Flavia along with poorvi Kulkarni the prime minister of the

Doll Decoration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi ‘Sparkles
and twinkles the eyes of my doll who says I am the prettiest queen who’s

The tiny tots of Assisi expressed their tender joy and were thrilled to

enthusiastically and beautified their tiny friends as the queen of their
love. Glamorous look and creative fancy outfits brought a tremendous

the occasion of the Christmas celebration. Assisi kids and the staff
body celebrated the joy and warmth of Christmas season by singing
melodious angelic carols and exchanging the gifts as the symbol of love
and brotherhood. Delicious sweets and mind blowing games brought extreme
joy in the celebration.
St.Francis of Assisi school Students Trip to Mysore
Students from 6th to 9th standard had a great privilege to take a trip
to mysore. The amusement which students had in GRS Fantasy Park is
unexplainable. Every bit of world of aqua fun was explored by the
students. Students were taken to a historical palace in the city of
mysore. Looking at the royal lineage photos and architectural style
domes of the palace gave lot of insights to the students. Scientific
knowledge was en kindled in students mind by looking at the variety of
birds and animals in Sri Chamarajendra Zoological garden.
Assisi Sambhram Celebration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi The
voices sang the chorus of the greatness of our patron st. Francis of
Assisi on the occasion of Assisi Sambhram on 19th Dec 2015. The Sambhram
began with the ceremonial band welcome to the chief guest and the
president and the other dignitaries. The entire celebration was about 12
excites. 702 students out of 708 appeared on the stage dancing for
various tunes. It was a feast for the eyes to see all the students
without any fear performing beautifully for almost 4 hours. The parent
of master Sumant Bhat were felicitated for scoring the all time high
percentage for the district 96.33% in the council examinations 2014-15.
The finale by the whole school was heart touching. The scintillating
cracker show was excellently manned to give the marvelous finish.

Chandigarh 32
students and 4 staff members of St. Francis of Assisi School Started
their journey at 5.30 pm on 3rd of December from Chikodi to Delhi,shimla
,Amritsar and Chandigarh. Amritsar is a city in the northwestern India
state of Punjab. On 6th of December the students and the staff reached
Amritsar at 6 pm. Everyone marveled at the beautiful sight of Golden
temple (Harmandir Sahib) considered the holiest gurdwar. The service
rendered by the staff in the Gurdwar was an admirable and learning
experience for everyone and the helping and caring nature of the people
in Punjab was tremendous and unforgettable.Jallianwala Bagh is a public
garden in Amritsar .Specially visiting the martyrs well at Jallianwala
Bagh gave an insight to everyone to be courageous.

am a pretty rose of the state Enjoy my presence in the garden.
The tiny roses from I to IV std trimmed themselves gorgeously on the
occasion of Best Indian dress competition. The different outfit of the
Indian state was well exhibited and the blooming tots participated
enthusiastically in the competition.

competition. The children carved beautiful deigns on vegetable and fruits and
decorated them glamorously. They shaped out unique styles on the collections and
sparkled many.

Assisi School. Parliamentarian and Class Xth std students were warmly
welcomed by the staff members with a band and showering of flowers.

was a symbolic sharing of love and concern of teachers and students.

Celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi On
13th November 2015 Assisians celebrated Diwali.In the morning assembly the
Speech was given by 5th std student Shrinidi, beautifully explaining the
significance of five days celebration of diwali followed by drama by class IXth
std students. Evening was the peak time of the celebration; beautiful decoration
of diyas and colorful rangoli competition made the day more glowing. The
celebration ended with bursting of crackers.

Assisians landed with various amusing performances on the culture day
competition, with lots of enthusiasm and unique spirit they stated in their
actions that we may have different religion, languages, different colored skin
but we all belong to human race unknowing factors of the state like Rajasthan
Goa, Maharashtra ,North East .Punjab ,Karnataka were staged so beautifully by
the Assisi kids.
Reopening
of Second semester at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi. Beginning of second
semester on 29th of October at st.Francis of Assisi school. The students were
exuberantly happy to be present in the school. The school principal Fr.Richard
thanked god for all the blessings received in the first semester and asked God
to abide in everyone with a prayer followed by blessings of Staff, students,
school and vehicles with a holy water.
St.Francis
of Assisi School Chikodi Staff Picnic to Yogikolla. A
day out arranged for the staff and non teaching staff to Yogi kolla and Gokak
Falls. Being together brought joy to everyone and sharing together the meals
brought oneness as brothers and sisters. It was an wonderful day to refresh and
rejoice together after the first semester exam.

The celebration began with a warm welcoming of the chief guest of the day
Prof.Ramdas Pai and the teachers (parents of our children) by Fr.Richard the
principal followed by special reverence to Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam by making pooja by
Ambi sir. The highlights of the day was felicitating the teachers (parents of
our children) with a rose flower and small gift as a symbol or our love and
respect towards them. It was an marvelous sight to see a positive response of
our parents in spite of their busy schedule.
Celebration
of Eucharistic Festival at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi St.Augastine,
the patran saint of Augustinian sisters was well remembered and enacted at
Assisi School on the feast day of the sisters. 3 sisters who are collaborating
in the school along with their superior sr. Mary were felicitated during the
school assembly. The festal showers were abundance with the cutting of the cake
and savoring the sweetness of Assisi to the Augustinians. Fr.Richie thanked the
sisters for their great love and dedication. The enactment depicted the
beautiful lesson of living “In the presence of mind”

celebration of country’s freedom in St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi. “start
up India, stand up India “(PM Modi) , On 15th of August at 8.45 am, Assisians
were jubilant to celebrate the independence day. Dr.Madhura an ophthalmology
surgeon of Chikodi civil hospital was the chief guest of the function. Speaking
on the occasion , she insisted to imbibe the great qualities of APJ Abdul Kalam.

the function assisi wonder park also has been inaugurated by Dr.Madhura
M.Khanapur.
Vanamahotsava Celebration at St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi The
Assisi School parliament celebrated the Vanamahotsava day on 28th of July with
great love for the nature. All the ministers brought beautiful plants and added
extra life to the lash green campus of Assisi, Speaking on the occasion prime
minister Poorvi Kulkarni called upon the students to safe guard and nurture
vegetable life. Fr.Richie the principal gave a clarion call to all the students
to go green in school which world refresh the mind of every child in the campus.

Shaikh, Father of Aayman,class II had met with an accident and lost his life on

Day Celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi
Friendship is like a perennial river which flows forever. It may change its path
but will never ever dry up. On 5th of august , St. Francis of Assisi campus was
brightened by the colorful celebration of friendship day. Every tiny buds and
flowers of our school were busy like a bees to tie friendship band to one
another.
Fr.Richard's Birthday celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi Birthday`s
are filled with Yesterday memories today joys and tomorrows dreams. So many
wishes ,too many memories, too few words with one big birthday ,happy birthday.
On 4th of June at 9.00 am St. Francis of Assisi School was ignited with a
birthday celebration of Fr. Richard, the principal. He was brought solemnly from
the entrance of the school to hall with the band and showers of flowers.
Students were excited and happy to perform their creative items. The focal point
of the Celebration was cutting of birthday cake and wishing him good health and
all the best for the prosperous future by every students and staff.
Swearing
ceremony of Prime Minister of St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi “Feel
powerful, be powerful and act as a powerful”.
On 20th of June, the school witnessed the swearing ceremony of Prime Minister of
Poorvi Kulkarni and the speaker Spurti Argi. The ceremony began with a
procession and welcoming the leaders with the bouque of flowers by the President
Fr. Richard and Fr.Jason vice principal of St. Francis of Assisi School. The
President of the ceremony led the reading of the formulae by the Prime Minister
followed by honoring them with school badge. Felicitation to Fr.Jason. Fr.Jason secured first rank in Mangalore University in the B.Ed exam, St.
Francis of Assisi School is proud to have him as a vice principal. Fr. Richard
the principal of St.Francis of School felicitate him with a bouque of flowers.
Election of
Prime Minister of St.Francis of Assisi school Chikodi. On
8th of June 2015, Poorvi Kulkarni , Shabbir Jamadar ,Abhinav Patil and Spurti
Argi Class x gave a nomination letter to the Principal Fr.Richard for the Prime
Minister Candidate of St. Francis of Assisi School. On 11th and 12th ,the four
Candidates from class x addressed the gathering with their Promises that they
would discharge their duties faithfully keeping the School motto as a base. On
16th the Candidates Campaigned from class V to X.

12th of June, the Assisians Warmly Welcomed Fr. Dancy. The Principal of Infant
Jesus School, Chikmangalur . Fr. Richard introduced him in the assembly as well
as explained his achievements in the Education field.
St.Francis
of Assisi School Made 100 % Result in ICSE Board Exam
St.Francis of assisi school has made history in the second batch itself as
Sumanth Bhat has scored all time high percentage for Belgaum district in the Xth
Standard ICSE result scoring 96.33%. 18 students appeared for the examinations
of which 12 passed in distinction, 5 passed in 1 class and 1 in second class.
The school attained 100% result and stood first in the district. Sumanth Bhat
became the district topper. Hard work of the students and sacrifice of the
teachers bore good fruit. The principal Fr.Richard Quadros congratulated the
students for their great heights.
St.Francis
of Assisi School Chikodi students Two day outing to Hidkal Dam Refresh,
relish, relinquish was the motto of the outing in order to prepare ourselves for
the forth coming semester exams. 125 students from 1st to 4th std and 120
students from 6th to 9th std had been to Hidkal dam simultaneously on Saturday
and Sunday. Both the days the students had the mountain climbing, fort visit and
beautiful emmersion in the Hidkal Dam reservoir. More than 4 hours the students
played in the water. The second day children had a great swim in the depth of
the stream.

Examination 2014-15 at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi It
is said, “Hard work will give success.” The eighteen more precious jewels of our
school are in the examination joy. So far they have answered six exams such as
English 1, English 2, Hindi, History & Civics, Geography and Mathematics.

20th Feb, St.Francis of
Assisi staff took a day off to refresh in Malvan. the departure was at 4.30 am
and reached at 11.30. Malvan is a fishing port town in Konkan region of
Maharashtra. Malvan has got very nice seashore and fort which has got a
historical significance. it was an good opportunity to be together to share
brotherly and sisterly care towards one another. wimming in the Arabian sea in
Malvan and travelling by ship to reach Malvan fort was a thrilling and enjoyable
moment.

Seva Project work at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi An
awareness on human trafficking and
POCSO Act 2012. On 17th of
Feb St.Francis of Assisi school students got an opportunity to attend a seminar
on an awareness on human trafficking and POCSO Act 2012. The sisters from Holy
Cross Congregation Sr.Rosaline child welfare committee member of Bangalore and
Sr.Lourdu Juvenile welfare committee enriched the students with their powerful
presentation.
Picnic for
the Lower class at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi, The
tiny tots were at their best as they had a day of picnic to Gokak falls. 60
students ventured into a journey to Gokak falls along with Fr.Richie and the
teachers. A nice stream of water in the falls made the children so happy. They
were in jubilation as they jumped in the small stream. At the end we had a
sumptuous lunch and snacks for the children. The parents were eagerly waited on
for their little ones in the evening.
Farewell to
18 Jewels of St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi. On
7th of Feb, St.Francis of assisi school bid farewell to 18 jewels of young
Assisians. The farewell began with a fellowship meal organized by class IX along
with the cultural board. The students were mesmerized and overjoyed at the
beautiful scene created in the hall. The programme started at 5.30 pm with a
band, welcoming the 18 buds of class X with their parents. The farewell carried
a tinge of sadness and the pair of separation and grief washing over them.
Celebration
of 66th Republic day at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi On 26th of Jan, St.Francis of
Assisi School celebrated 66th republic day. The celebration began with hoisting
of flag followed by a beautiful march fast and drills. The important of the day
was opening of the mini sports with the bearing of the torch by squad leaders,
Anish, Shreesh, Isha and Rashmi. Which finally received by the PT master Maxim.
The students were very busy in participating various games such as running race,
tug of war, kabaddi etc. the winner were honored by the teachers with a crown.

On 24th of January, St.Francis of Assisi School conducted science exhibition.
Class VIII Students were very eager and creative in exhibiting their physics
model with the help of Physics teacher Sr.Sahita. Every teacher and the students
who visited the exhibition marveled at the way the students explained.

On 12th of Jan, the Assisians were overjoyed by the presence of Daniel, Lily,
Veronique and Bernadette from Lyon in France. They are zealous partner in
Vimukthi Social Center and help generously the poor children of Potnal in
Raichur district.

Assisi Nirantari was celebrated on 20th of Dec 2014 at 9.00 am with an creative
inauguration prepared by cultural board members sir Remy, Sr. Josphine, Sr.
Bridgita and Sir Subhash. The opening of inauguration was hoisting of the school
flag by Fr.Alwyn Dais. Emerging of Class X from the lotus with crackers and
releasing of air balloons by Sumanth class X followed by welcoming of Chief
guest, Sri William Alvares Syndicate bank manager Chikodi, Fr. Alwyn Dais,
parents, students by the principal Fr.Richard.
Christmas
Celebration at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi On
3rd of Jan 2015 at 7.30 Pm, St.Francis of Assisi School celebrated the joyful
event of Christmas. The celebration began with a procession of baby Jesus with a
song “Joy to the world” followed by a Christmas message by miss Flavia. Rev. Fr.
Richard welcomed the invited guests with a flower and a word of appreciation.
Sirs, Remy, Jeevan and Maxim were dressed up like the three kings Gaspar,
Melchior and Balthasar and offered gifts to baby Jesus. It was an excited
moments to know our secret friends as well as to exchange our gifts.
Assembly
conducted by William Wordsworth squad at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi. We
the members of wordsworth had conducted the assembly for one week. We formed a
'W' shape.The topic for this month was 'Change'. our group members read many
articles related to change, we even performed a small skit at weekend on one of
our chapters 'the Bet Which gives us a message that how the person changes his
mind and make good utilisation of his time.
Delhi and
Agra Educational Tour by St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi Students On
22nd of November at 5.30 am we began the journey from Delhi to Agra to visit Taj
mahal and Agra fort. It was an excited and joyful moment to admire the beauty of
the Taj Mahal which has a rhythmic combination of solids and voids, concave and
convex, such as arches and domes further increases the aesthetic aspect. Every
bit of information from the guide about the Taj Mahal was a thought provoking.
We visited Agra fort at 4.30 Pm. The Agra fort is built alongside the Yamuna
river and stretches almost 2.5 Km.
Day 1
Report of Delhi & Agra Educational tour by St. Francis of Assisi School
Students. On
18th November at 7.30 Pm, St.Francis of Assisi Students from Class VIII, Ix ,X
along with the principal Fr.Richard, sisters and sir Remy began their trip to
Delhi by train. On 20th of November at 11 am visited Red fort, it was made up of
large sand stone of red color. The fort was previously also known as blessed
fort due to the fort being residence to the royal family, spreading over an area
of more than 250 acres of land. Every point of the Red fort was a mesmerizing
piece of architecture, lying on the banks of Yamuna river. It was an learning
moments for our students.
Assembly
conducted by John Keats squad at Assisi School, Chikodi We
are from square john Keats, the first weak of November was of our square we
enjoyed it a lot. For this month we had topic Change. On Monday we had a speech
on change by poorvi .On Tuesday we had holiday of Muharram and on Wednesday we
had a beautiful poem by Isha. On Thursday we had a story of change that occurs
in our daily life by pratiksha .On Saturday we had a skit by square John Keats.

St.Francis of Assisi School chikodi was blessed with the special presence of
four capuchin Deacon brothers namely, Brs Preetham Mendonca, Salvadon D’Cunha,
Ravi Rajesh Sarrao and John Zodusangha as they were going for the villages for
the social work experience, they paid a short visit to school. during the
assembly Deacon Br.Ravi Rajesh Sarrao addressed the student and encouraged them
to study well. To be happy in life he gave them only one short mantra to

you have to eat, sleep when you have to sleep.”

the students of SQUAD WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE formed the assembly in curve shape. We
had lot of articles on the theme change. On Monday we spoke about how to change
our relationship. On Wednesday our SQUAD member Jateen sang a song on change
which was prepared by his own thinking. On Thursday also we spoke on topic
change. And on Saturday we performed a skit on change. On everyday we would
change the SPL .The message which we gave from that skit is that our will power
to do any thing should be strong.

Francis of Assisi School had witnessed a rare opportunity to hold the Taluka
level Pratibha Karanji. Honorable MLA Sri Ganesh Hukkeri and the education
department organized this great event at Assisi school. The DDPI sri Mannikeri
speaking on the hailed, our school as having every facility that a good school
requires. The BEO sri Mekanmaradi and several other authorities were extremely

Navaratri
Dandiya at St.Francis of Assisi School chikodi The traditional play of Navaratri Dandiya was played in our school on the last
day of our exam which was on 30th of September, 2014. All the children came with
their traditional dresses and after their exam in the afternoon they had a good
bath in the natural made pond which is having plenty of water due to good rains.
Later the students along with their teachers put beautiful steps while beating
their dandiyas for the melodious music.
Long
awaited Dream fulfilled by our honorable MLA The decennial promise of a bore well for sufficient water for the students of
Assisi School was realized by the goodwill of the honorable MLA Sri. Ganesh
Hukkeri. He came to the school site along with the TMC members and congress
leaders and performed the Puja for the bore well point. The Prime Minister of
the school Miss. Sakshi Shaha read out the report requesting a session with the
MLA in the coming days.
C.S Anand's
Session at St.Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi A session was conducted by Captain C.S Anand on 30th of August this year to
class 9 and 10 students. The session began at 9:45 a.m. Many success stories of
great personalities were narrated including the one of O.J Simpson, CEO of
Infosys Mr. Narayan Murthy and some others too. He gave success secrets to
practice.
The session was resumed in the afternoon after the lunch break. Then, he started
up with the career guidance.
Flowers for
Mother Mary with lots of loving gestures. Our mothers are of great treasure beyond any measure. With this beautiful
thoughts in mind we honored Mother Mary with beautiful prayer service and the
children had a flower show competition. All the flowers were offered to Mother
Mary and the Hymn ‘Ave, Ave, Ave Maria’ was sung by the teachers with great
devotion. The catholic teachers along with the Frs and Srs were seated on the
dais and celebrated the day honoring Mother Mary.

Teachers were marveled and lighted up with happiness at the well organized
program me and games, colourful decoration of stage, delicious cake and the

Bandhan Celebration Raksha Bhandan is a most delightful festival celebrated in every past of our
country. On 10th August 2014 St.Francis of Assisi School students in Chikodi got
a special occasion to cherish their moments of brotherly love by tying of sacred
thread on their brothers wrist as well as making an arathi which is symbolic way
of representing that “My brother you live for ever with abundance of graces and
good health. Our students faces were lighted up with joy. What a wonderful day
it was !.
Celebration
of smiles and great vigor The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic feelings and
celebrative mood. The National flag was hoisted at 8 a.m by Dr. Sudhir Patil
along with the Principal Fr. Richie Quadros, Fr. Jason and Master Pranav Bellad.
The march past by the students was stupendous and mind blowing. The cultural
programmes along with the speeches of the students in different languages were
very colorful and feast for the eyes to enjoy.
Bidding
farewell with human touch Mr.Simon
who was working in the school as support staff for the bus had to say good bye
and proceed to Assam to be with his family. A cordial send off was accorded to
him by the staff and students. simple Simon has become the darling uncle of
every child with his delicate smile. Sr.Josphine conducted the send off
formalities with a shawl, momento and precious gift. Simon in his farewell
speech requested the children to explore and go higher. It was a memorable human
touch seeing him so tender and loving.
Celebration

are again here to wish and celebrate our Muslim brethren Id Mubarak on the
occasion of Ramzan. A beautiful exchange of peace was organized in the
auditorium on this occasion. Kum. Aliya Pathan gave a beautiful message on
Ramzan. Fr. Richie wished the Muslim teachers by offering flowers and conveyed
his festal greetings to all students. Ms. Nazarine Nadaf and Mrs. Nazma
organized the festal celebration. God bless one and all on this great feast of
our muslim brethren.
Clubs with
their creative best to bring out the best in the children This year we have introduced unique way of working of various clubs in the
school to create interest in every child towards the all round development of
the personality. Each clubs like Maths club, English club, Social & Science
club, Hindi & Kannada club, information and broadcasting clubs chalked out their
weekly programmes for various classes keeping their interests. The club
activities are held on Saturday during the 5th hour regularly for 45 minutes.
Sharpening skills for the teachers at St.Francis of Assisi
School,Chikodi. Teachers
need to be learners, with this mind one day upgrading seminar was
conducted for the teachers by Fr. Peter CssR. Teaching methods for the
21st century was the topic dealt with and thanks for being a teacher was
the gratitude shown by the students by conducting classes systematically
thus allowing the teachers to be free to attend the seminar. Teachers in
return forgot themselves and became like little children dancing and
singing the melodies.
The melodious strumming of Guitars, Ha ... Hu....Ha,,,,,hu Echoes
of the Karate master was resonating in the Auditorium of Assisi on
Saturday 26th July as we inaugurated the Activity world. Rev. Fr. Robin
Victor D’Souza, the administrator of the Province inaugurated the
Activity world by lighting the lamp. Along with him, Fr. Veerus Concesso,
Fr. Jason Fernandes, Sr. Josphine, Mr. Prabhakar and Fr. Richie Quadros,
the Principal beautified the dais. The chief Guest Fr. Robin was
heartily welcomed by Fr. Richie and all other prominent dignitaries were
cordially welcomed.
Little genius striving towards perfection A
day of seminar on ’ how to become a star’ was conducted by
Fr. Peter CssR gave a thumping boost for the students of 1st
Std to 4th Std. Each one need to be a star in our own level
and that star should shine brightly during day and night
thus focusing everything that is helping one another to
reach our set goal. Children made melodies and presented
beautiful reports through their group discussions. “Enadaru
munde saagu Nee”, was the great message as hummed by every
child as they returned to their houses happily.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE You
are precious to me was the slogan shining on the backdrop and on the
lips of teachers and students. Principal’s Birthday was celebrated on
5th of July. The students welcomed the principal from the gate and the
wishing ceremony was held during the assembly. The staff and students
sang melodiously and wished Fr.Richie increasing the glamour of the
celebration. All had the sweet cake to taste. The fathers, sisters and
the staff had the fellowship meal together.
SHARP SKILLS FOR THE SMART STUDENTS Two days seminar by Fr. Peter CSSR was held for the students of 5 th std
to 10 th std. Personality development, managing the stress, innovative
ways of studying with the positive attitude was dealt during the seminar
Video presentation was held.’ Who am I’ was the major theme which was
running throughout the seminar. Group session, Presentation and activity
mode were used in order to instill in students.
School Parliament Inaugurated The
little minds are sharp and shrewd. They can explore the whole system of
the society. Keeping this in mind the parliament of St.Francis of Assisi
school was inaugurated during the morning assembly. Kumari.Sakshi Shah
was sworn in as the prime minister and Kumari.Namrata and Master.
Shabbir as the deputy prime minister of the school.
New
Aroma of the Academic year. “Education
is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson Mandela heading towards a powerful change we began the new
academic year with a prayer service. The students were called to light
the lamp. Speaking on the occasion Fr. Richie, the principal called upon
the students to dream great things and do great things.
New Academic Again Every
beginning has a beautiful ending, with this in mind to begin
the new academic year. We had a get together of the parents
on 31st may 2014. The old and new parents were introduced to
one another. An hour session on parent, teacher coordination
was conducted by Rev.Fr.Arun Lobo. It was very effective and
gave a right note for the new beginning.
First batch of Assisians at their best
The ICSE results are out. Time to rejoice for the staff and students of
St. Francis of Assisi School. All 11 students appeared for the exams
came out gloriously. 4 secured distinction, 5 stood in First Class and 2
in pass class. Rahul Gidaveer became the topper of the school. The
management, principal and staff members congratulate all our dear
students.

The admission process at Assisi School,Chikodi began with great vigor.
The lush green surrounding and peace loving atmosphere was liked by the
parents and many are seeking admissions in our schools. The banners are
set in various places specially all the auto rickshaw doors are carrying
the school everywhere. Even the hostel facility is made available for
the better standard. Christalaya campus will have the hostel and it will

In order to make the minds fresh and free the students of 1st to 7th Std
took up one day outing to Gandharva resort at Kolhapur. 200
students,eight teachers along with Fr.Richie and Jason set out their
journey early in the morning. A warm and cordial welcome was awaited at
Gandharva with the breakfast idli,wada and sweets. The water park games
were played by everyone and all the Land games were enjoyed by all. The
lunch was superb along with a scoop of Ice cream.
Tiny tots at their
best........... St. Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
Hardwork deserves a great reward with this thoughts in mind the KG
section students went for a days outing to Hidkal Dam and Raja Lakama
Gouda Fort. 60 students along with three teachers and Fr.Richie left the
school early in the morning. Tiny tots climbed the Fort like expert
soldiers and later had a cool bath in the Dam waters. The sumptuous
lunch prepared by the teachers was relished by the tiny kids. Fr.Anthony
Samy of St.Michael Church made all the necessary arrangements to make
the children happy and joyous.

1st
Batch of Assisi School at the ICSE Council Exams.
Ready, steady, set, go: these were the words uttered by the Principal
Fr. Richie as the first batch got ready for their final exams. After
vigorous practice and strenuous efforts the students appeared for the
1st ICSE 10th Std council exams on 3rd March, in Pheonix Public School
at Belgaum. This being the first batch and the first day Principal
accompanied the students and blessed all the students of Pheonix school.
Dyan Probodhan School and Assisi School. The students were welcomed
inside the exams hall in a traditional manner by distributing sweets and
coconut piece. Though anxious in the beginning our students were relaxed
after Writing the 1st paper: English Language. May God help our children
to excel in their future.

Farewell our dear jewels, go and be the light of the world
The
first batch of 10th std of Assisi school had a painful experience to say
good bye to their alma mater. A day dedicated specially for these little
jewels of ours had been ably managed by the 9th std students along with
their class teacher Mr. Remy. The day began with a royal welcome to all
11 students one being sick was unable to attend the farewell function.
They were led like the bride and bridegroom of our school to the dais.
Sri. C. H. Reddy, Principal of K.L.E. P.U. college was the Chief Guest
of the function. He encouraged the children to have clear goal in their
lives.

Cancer Awareness Program at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
Awareness creates prevention. Mr. Kaushik Adihikari, a member of cancer
foundation, India had given an awareness program towards the prevention
of Cancer. The Audio Visual program presented by Kaushik had enlightened
the students how cancer is caused and the precaution which has to be
taken by everyone. He also warned the students not to eat the junk food
often thus making the students aware of the bad effects of junk food and
obesity. Children showed their concern and contributed nearly Rs.7000/

Decennial closing celebration, Principal Fr. Richie hoisted the
school flag along with the teachers and the parliament members at 9
a.m. In the evening a special welcome was accorded to the
dignitaries near the entrance gate. Most Rev. Peter Machado, Bishop
of Belgaum and Rev. Fr. Dolphy Pais, Provincial, Holy Trinity
Province, Karnataka were garlanded and welcomed by Fr. Arun and Fr.
Richie.

Santa at Assisi School Chikodi
during the Christmas celebration.
After the Christmas holidays on 2nd January we had the Christmas tree
programme for parents, students and teachers. The programme began at
5.00 p.m. with the Christmas carols. Being the decennial year the
parents were invited for the get together along with the students. Two
tableau's depicted the birth of great king Jesus Christ, the carol group
echoed Gloria and Jingle bells. Santa danced to the roar of the children
and energized by music it was a fesast to watch the show.
Sports Day celebrated at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
If you can give your son or daughter only one gift, let it be
enthusiasm; to enthuse new spirit of sportsmanship in the children the
sports day at Assisi school Chikodi, was organized with great style and
vigour. The entire ground was adorned with colourful flags. The school
band accorded a special welcome to the Chief guest Miss. Hilda D’Souza,
headmistress of Kalmeshwar Kivud Education trust and Rev. Fr, Veerus
being the president of the function.
Children Fest Celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
Our
joy is in our kids. Our pride is in their future. With this slogan we
ventured into the children's fest 2013 on Dec 14. The entire ground was
decorated with balloons, buntings and flowers, food fest and Fancy fate
stalls were shining with variety of food from various cultures. The
inaugural ceremony began at 10 am with Fr. Joachim D'souza, Treasurer,
Holy Trinity Province - Karnataka, releasing the balloons and Fr. Richie,
the principal declared the Children Fest open.
Sr.Rachail's Visit to St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
Till
now the Frs. were visiting the school and showering their blessings and
now it is the turn of the sisters and rightly Sr. Rachail the Provincial
of Augustian sisters visited our school and addressed the assembly. Fr.
Richie the principal accorded a heartily welcome on behalf of the staff
and students. Sr. Rachael in her address requested the students to be
good and to do good for one another. we were delighted with the presence
of St. Mary, the superior of Jyoti Nilaya convent.
Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebrated at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
With
great pomp, Saint francis of Assisi School, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsav
on 30 Nov. The Lic development officer of Chikodi kashinath was the
chief guest of the day. In his speech he gave a clarion call to speak
kannada wherever and whenever it is possible. he also spoke of richness
of Kannada culture and language. Along with him on the dias were the
Manager of Trinity School Udupi, Fr.Arun Lobo the chief co-ordinator
vimukti chikodi, Fr.Richard principal of St.Francis of Assisi School and
Fr.Jason Fernandes the new arrival to the St.Francis of Assisi School.

Magic Show held at St.Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
You
want to be famous,rich and smart within a day. Mr.Marco from Goa was
here at Assisi and children enjoyed a day of magic with this Goan
gentleman. A magic show in order to help the street children of
Rev.fr.Luis Lebello in pune diocese was organized at our school. All the
students were at their toetip to watch the beautiful show which was
specially formulated for the children. Fr.jason welcomed the magicians
and his feave students collected handsomely well to support and help the
cause of the unfortunates.

Quiz
competition held at St.Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi
The ‘mind
sport’ so called ‘Quiz’ was conducted in St. Francis of Assisi School
by the Examination Board of the School for the high school section
group wise. The representatives of four groups contested
enthusiastically. It was the first round. The quiz was held on
variety of subjects.
Fancy
dress competition @ Assisi school Chikodi
Tiny tots of
Nursery section were at their best on the stage at Assisi. the fancy
dress competitions were held for the KG section and the kids
performed in a fuller level in front of their gurus and parents. the
colourful display of different personalities were the joyous moments
to be watched. the stage courage and the presentation of the kids
infront of their grown ups was laudable.

Assisi school Chikodi
If you
love children you can see the face of god in them, with this slogan
the teachers of Assisi school celebrated the children's day in a
remarkable manner. at first all the Parliment members, the 10th std
students and the squad captains were welcomed on the dais in a
ceremonial band. Sr. kulandai welcomed them heartily with a token of
flower as a symbol of love and affection towards all the children.

Diwali celebration of Assisi School Chikodi
This
little guiding light of mine, I am going to let it shine
with this slogan we had a joyous celebration of Dipawali in
Assisi School along with the staff , the students ,decorated
the school campus with beautiful lamps and the display of
colourful Rangoli added flavour to the celebration. Children
sang, danced and acted with great outburst.

Football tournament
Assisi School Chikodi:
Our students in order to venture into the sports world had
travelled nearly 125 Km away from chikodi in order to take
part in the football tournament dedicated to late. Fr.Edwin
in Khanapur. They played a match with St. Marys High school
Hubli. Since this was their first fixture away from the home
ground they had accepted the defeat quite sportively but it
gave them tremendous exposure and interest that they made a
point to play football everyday after the school hours.

Treasure hunt activity @ St. Francis of Assisi School
Treasure hunt
activity was conducted by the cultural committee of St. Francis of
Assisi School to the students. The hidden treasure was hid on the
top of the mountain and students were given certain rules to the
followed and the students were divided into groups by their house
name and finally the treasure was found by one of the leading group
William Shakespeare.

Celebration of Life with activities at Assisi School, Chikodi Every
Saturday Assisi School booms with extraordinary joy and glamour
having celebrated the day as activity day. 21st of September all the
children involved themselves in various brain storming as well as
fun loving activities. 1st to 5th std drew beautiful faces and sang
rhythmic rhymes. Some students even ventured in tongue twisting
competition. Students of 6th to 10th std made best use of the waste
and produced beautiful models.

Program for Teachers & Students at Assisi, Chikodi Training
makes the students and teachers experts. Three days training for
teachers and students by Rev. Fr. Andrew Fernandes from Belgaum has
become an eye opener for all in order to introspect each others way
of teaching and learning. Study skills for the 7th and 8th std,
smart way of learning for the 9th and 10th std, teaching skills and
positive outlook for the teachers was taught through the power point
with various examples.
